Wiele aspektów naszej egzystencji ulega negacji - cielesność, seksualność, rozrodczość, funkcjonują jako swoiste tabu, ulegają ufantastycznieniu i manipulacji. To, co wywołuje wstręt, lęk, przeraża, a jednocześnie, co wzbudza zachwyt, pociąga, fascynuje, na przykład obrzeża ciała, czy przejściowe stany naszego życia, jak narodziny i śmierć, wskazuje na najistotniejsze elementy naszej podmiotowości. Statyczne, trwałe jako ciała widzimy jedynie chwilowe stop-klatki permanentnej zmiany jakiejś materii.
